Cozy Cranberry Makeup Tutorial
My go-to makeup for fall! Face products edition!
Top left photo:
Foundations and concealers. These are always essential for me but I prefer these specific ones for fall.
- NARS sheer glow in Mont Blanc and NARS sheer glow in Siberia. The reason I have two of these is due to two reasons; I love the bottles and I am a mix between these two shades. I love these for fall because they have such a nice healthy glow and they aren’t drying AT ALL on my dry skin. Looks very natural and covers all my imperfections, like my red cheeks.
- Skin79 bb cream. This stuff is just nice to throw on in the morning for days where I’m not doing much. Not drying.
- Maybelline Fit Me concealers in 10 & 15 I believe. I use one for brow sculpting and the other for dark circles. Once again, not drying!
- Boots n. 7 radiant glow clicky pen. This is just a brightener that I love! It’s the same idea as the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclait but it is 12 bucks instead of 40. I always need a brightener in the fall because… Well, I just do. I suppose the gloomy weather makes my skin feel a bit more dull and not as glowing.

Face powders/blushes/bronzer/highlighters
- Maybelline Dream Matte Powder. When I want a matte face I use this. Extremely light but gives just an extra bit of coverage.
- MUFE HD powder. Light and sets under eye concealer perfectly.
- Physicians Formula 3 in one. I love the highlighter and bronzer in this trio!
- MAC Beauty Powder in Snowglobe. Perfect subtle highlighter on my skin.
- ELF bronze and blush duo. This blush and bronzer mixed together makes a nice subtle contour color for me. I usually just buff out the glitter and everything looks fairly natural :).

My go-to products for fall. Mascara/brow gel edition!
First photo from top to bottom:
- Buxom lash mascara: I love this mascara. I wear it nearly every day, it’s natural and just plain awesome!
- Loreal Voluminous Millions of Lashes: Similar to Buxom lash but gives a bit more drama and a LOT more curl.
- ELF duo eyebrow gel/clear mascara: I use this for my eyebrows but I figured I’d throw it in with this post! If anybody tells you that you need a 20 dollar clear brow gel, smack them upside the head. THEY AREN’T DIFFERENT. This one is a dollar. Brow gel is great for making your brows look really natural after you fill them in, it also keeps them tamed.
- MAC Zoom Waterfast Lash: Always need a waterproof mascara for fall in Oregon since it rains so much here!
My go-to fall products! Eyeshadow edition
For fall I love, LOVE to wear a lot of eyeshadows, so this part isn’t fair. I’d probably show you every eyeshadow I own, however, I know these will be my most used ones. If I am running out the door, these will be the ones I grab to throw together a quick 5 minute look!

Super fast and easy dark fall eyeshadow tutorial!
(Disclaimer: I currently am really sick, I have mono, I look and feel like crap.)
1. Prime eye (I used Essence Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Caddy In The Wind) and cover lid and a bit of your crease with MAC’s Satin Taupe eyeshadow.

2. Apply a matte black eyeshadow on outer and inner thirds of the eye, not in your crease! Leave the middle alone, softly blend into taupe shade. Also, apply this to lower lashline in the same way.

3. Run a raspberry shade along your crease, right on the edge of the taupe color. Also, apply a very shiny shade to the ball of your eye, right where we left that area open with the black.

4. Right on the edge of the raspberry shade, use a matte orange eyeshadow to start blending it out. I used MAC’s Orange. Pull this down to your bottom lashes as well. Blend out with a lighter peach, I used MAC’s Samoa Silk.

5. Line eyes, apply inner corner highlight, apply mascara, and clean up. I used Essence Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Caddy in The Wind with an inglot shade, the same that I used in the center of my lid to highlight my inner corner.

I would wear this with some raspberry lips for fall! :)
Haze of Love, Wet n Wild Megalast
Sorry for messy swatches! I can’t do new swatches because I cut all my nails off and I am sad about it :(
I LOVE this color for fall! It’s an awesome brick red. :)
Mini Drugstore Haul Today!
I noticed I haven’t been purchasing any high end makeup lately, I guess it’s because I don’t really need anything! I think my next big purchases are going to be from OCC, Sugarpill, Inglot and MUFE though! I’m in need of some more funky, bright, and crazy colors for editorial shoots and what not.
:)
Plus I am on a HUGE blue loving spree right now, Inglot recently posted a photo of 6 or so women sporting their new line of BLUE LIPSTICKS! I am all over it and think I want to try one out for myself.
Anyways, I got these three things today from Fred Meyers:
Wet n WIld Mega Last Lipstick in Wine Room
Wet n Wild Mega Last Nail Color in Haze Of Love
And, Loreal Lineur Intense in Carbon Black.
I thought the two wet n wild items were PERFECT for fall and I haven’t used a liquid liner in AGES so I decided to pick one up and throw out my old, crappy, dried up ones. So far, I love the liner!
Anyways, these were just a few things I wanted to share with you guys, I am just waiting very (im)patiently for fall!
Essence Lipstick in Fairy Tail
I’ve never tried these lipsticks but have always been interested, at a buck or two a pop I really get skeptical about the quality of things… So I just had to review one!
I bought this color because it was 50% off, meaning it may be discontinued soon so go get it now if you want it!
How much?: $1-$2
Where at?: Ulta, Fred Meyers, and essencebeauty.com
Packaging: The packaging is in a plastic tube, the same color as your lipstick. When you open the cap it is clear from where the lipstick twists out. It is a MUCH better packaging style than the Wet n Wild lipsticks and I commend them for that!
Scent: The scent is a light berry sent, it’s hardly noticable but it is sweet. It isn’t too strong like Milani or Maybelline lipsticks, but it isn’t as light as a MAC lipstick.
Taste?: The taste is slightly berry mixed with chemicals. I wouldn’t say it’s pleasant but it isn’t unpleasant like NYX round lipsticks!
Color: The color is a medium coveraged berry w/ slight red and gold shimmer with a glossy finish. For some reason this SLIGHTLY reminded me of NARS Dolce Vita except for darker in color. I don’t know why! I think it’s the glossy finish and the very light feeling of it.
Lasting power: This lipstick gives me a good 3 solid hours of wear!
I think it’s a fantastic product and I love the color, definitely is going to be the first one I pop out during fall!
Pros:
- Very pretty color
- Glossy finish
- Long lasting power
- Fairly sturdy tube
- Very cheap!
Cons:
- Slightly displeasing smell/taste
- Not a very aesthetically pleasing tube ( I know, I’m picky!)
Rating: 9/10
Two new fall favorites! Review by Kayleena :)!
Essie Nail Lacquer in Chinchilly and Maybelline lipstick in Fifth Ave. Fuchsia.
Chinchilly!
The nail lacquer is great, I had heard a lot about it on tumblr and youtube so I decided to try it myself. It’s very opaque and dries fairly fast. The brush is a good size for a smooth application and the formula is very creamy. The brush picks up a LOT of product, more than any other polish I’ve seen, so you have to make sure you wipe enough off at first. That would be my only complaint :P! The color I picked, Chinchilly, is a very pretty muted grey.
I rate it a good 9/10 :)
Price: 7 bucks!
Fifth Ave. Fuchsia!
This is my first Maybelline lipstick and I’d have to say I love it! The color is so bright and vibrant and I’ll most definitely be wearing it all through fall. It’s a very true fuchsia and the color lasts for hours. It does stain your lips a bit, so watch out. :)
I rate it a 10/10
Price: 5 bucks.
Green and purple color-block tutorial with Kayleena!
Easy, easy, easy.
1. Pink/purple base (Rimmel stir it up)
2. Buff purple eyeshadow into crease, avoid lid. (parfait amour, MAC)
3. Pat on green eyeshadow onto lid, blend the harsh line between crease and lid. (Steamy, MAC)
4. Fill inner corner with mint green color, blend with previous green. (MAC.. unknown, the sticker fell off xD)
5. Line eyes with black eyeshadow, add mascara.
VOILA!
Fall trends with Kayleena number 4: Graphic Eyeliner! (AND, ELF cream liner review!)
Who would’ve thought that a super thick, matte eyeliner would be so popular? I think it’s a hate/love relationship for me, sometimes I adore how it looks, others, I do not! This look really caught my eye though (no pun intended) and I just absolutely adored it!
Obviously this is a very thick matte liner, but instead of a wing, I have a squared-off edge! I didn’t apply mascara because I want this look to be focussed on just the eyeliner and have a more modern simplistic feel. I saw a few of the runway models sporting this look for fall and I had to try it myself!
How did I get it?
1. Pulled my eyelid taught so that I could swipe a thick long line of black cream liner to my outter corners. (elf cream eyeliner)
2. After extending the liner past my outer corners JUST A SMIDGE, I took my brush, held it upright, and drew a straight line upwards, right up to the holy heavens.
3. I brought the line that I drew up to about my crease, down to my inner corner, decreasing the thickness as I went.
4. To set, and make this look matte, I patted on a matte black eyeshadow and sharpened the edges with a small flat brush. (blue my mind, MAC)
5. To finish this look, I moisturized my lips and then swept on some long lasting lipstick in a neutral rose tone. ( passion preserved, MAC)
Elf Cream Eyeliner review:
Now, I’d have to rate this eyeliner a 4/10. Yeah, I really don’t like it much. I got it when I was a bit tight with money and I ran out of my other cream eyeliner, it was 3$ vs my regular liner at 19$. In all honesty it feels like that really, really, really shitty makeup you get for halloween to make clown faces. Yeah, the dollar store grease paint. It doesn’t last long, it smears, and it’s impossible to remove without spending a large amount of time scrubbing vigorously. I do not like to treat my poor sensitive ‘balls that way :(. I give it a 4 because it glides on smoothly and if you set it with a powder it isn’t too bad.
Just my opinion, for people who’ve tried it, did it work well for you?
Fall trends with Kayleena, number 3: Metallic smokey eye!
(second picture from the web somewhere (obviously the one that’s not me))
A classic look with metallic makes it a bit more edgy. All over the runway, makeup artists were showcasing new takes on the smokey eye, the most popular being a metallic one. (others include: green, purple, gold, orange, etc) This look was super easy! Here’s how I got it:
1. primed eyes with Painterly Paint Pot, MAC.
2. buffed a black eyeshadow into crease with a large fluffy brush. Blue My Mind eyeshadow trio, the black color, MAC brush from Costco, Kirkland brand. :D
3. Used a dark bronze color to blend out the black into the brow, then patted the color onto the outer half of my eyelid, AND on outer lower lash line, Spectacle of Yourself, mega metal eyeshadow, MAC.
4. Used a lighter orange-y bronze on inner half of eyelid, blended with darker color, and the inner half of lower lash line, Paparazz-she, mega metal eyeshadow, MAC.
5. White eyeshadow for brow highlight.
6.Popped a super shimmery light gold loose shadow in corner, Sunshine, LA Colors.
7. Lined upper lash line and lower lash line with ELF cream eyeliner with a eyeliner brush.
6. Put mascara on! Dazzle Glass, MAC
And there we have it! An almost pro smokey eye. You girls/guys will probably do better than I have. Once again, I’m blogging at 1 am. :P
-Kayleena :)
DISCLAIMER: I KNOW NEARLY ALL THE PRODUCTS I USE ARE MAC, YOU DON’T HAVE TO USE THEM. THESE ARE JUST THE PRODUCTS THAT I HAVE SINCE MOST HAVE BEEN BOUGHT FOR ME BY OTHER PEOPLE.
Fall trends with Kayleena number 2: RED WINE LIPS!
A super large fall trend, along with orange lips, are deep red “vampy” lips. They don’t sparkle like Edward but they have the fierceness of the werewolf dude. Dear gosh that was lame. Anyways, I applied this lipstick with a brush to get a precise line around my lips and that’s it!
I used my FAVORITE lipstick line, Revlon Color Burst in 095 Crimsom. It’s a super smooth, deep red with not shimmer but a bit of glossy shine. I love it like I love having hair.
I would almost always pair a red lip with a nude face, or a softer smokey eye. Otherwise you can get that ” I try to hard ” look, or my favorite, ” I look like a whore. ” Whatever floats your boat!
-Love, Kayleena.
FALL TREND NUMBER 1.
Orange eyeshadow.
I attempted to create a look that wasn’t only wearable but it included a faint, but still there, trend. That would be the boxy modern application of the color. :)
Yes, it’s a summery color, but look around during fall, my darlin, by golly, there’s quite a bit of orange!
It’s my favorite color so I have to justify wearing it all over the place. But really, it was seen on Rodarte, Donna Karan, Prada and many other high fashion models. Not only is it fresh and exciting, it’s also warm and inviting. (; wink wink, look at dem sexy balls. Eyeballs that is.
How I got it? Easy peasy!
1. Primed eyes with Painterly Paint Pot, Mac.
2. Swept on Samoa Silk, a light peachy color, over lids and up to eyebrows on inner corners. Mac.
3. Patted an orange eyeshadow in a triangular shape with flat shader brush on outer corners to keep up with the modern boxy trend but then I softened them up with a little bit of the light peachy color I used earlier, Samoa Silk, using my big fluffy brush. Mac.
4. layered on a volumizing mascara and then finished off with a lengthening on the tips.
5. Oh yes, and I lined my inner rims because it’s 3 am and they were a bit reddish and made me look like a crack whore.
ANYWHO, if you have any questions, feel free to ask :D
Au revoir, lovelies.
xxx
-Kay
