I use a DSLR camera so I can alter all of the settings myself and expose the photo for exactly what I want it to do.

I usually use a flash so that it won’t come out blurry, and I don’t get TOO close to the camera, I just crop out what I don’t want after I upload it. It’s best to do it in a place that has fairly good lighting, like a room with the overhead light on and maybe a lamp too.

What kind of camera do you have? Maybe I could help further. :)
