Let me just express how much I absolutely HATE going to Mac stores and counters. Do they do this to you?
(not everybody in Mac stores are awful, I’ve met a few VERY kind people, I’m just saying the majority that I’ve personally seen.)
The only reason I still go is because online swatches are always off.
EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The people are always so freakin’ BITCHY to me. They talk me down a mile a minute because when I’m out shopping I’m usually not looking my best. I guess I don’t cover myself in makeup and wear my best clubbing dresses like they do, to the store.
Boy oh boy are they surprised when I whip out my pile of cash ( I do it just because they think I won’t purchase anything, because of how I look that day ) and my Mac Pro card.
I can’t stand it.
Yesterday, a woman was trying to tell me how I could use their cream base to highlight to tops of my cheek bones and that she could show me how since I “don’t look like I’ve ever done it before.”
Yes, that’s what she said to me.
Granted, she doesn’t know me. She doesn’t know what I do or who I am. However, I feel as though that is NOT something I would say to a customer in my store if I were to be in her position.
Also, not to mention, from what a few Mac employees told me (the few nice ones that I’ve met :P One of them no longer works for Mac.) 90 percent (exaggerated percentage, guys) of Mac’s employees aren’t even real makeup artists. The ones at the stores as, yes, but the counters are different. They are trained under Estee Lauder (whom owns Mac) to sell the products, not apply. Just like Lancome employees, and everything else Estee Lauder owns (which is practically everything -.-). They are given makeup application courses maybe 1-3 times a year. The employees to be hired are just supposed to give a quick and brief makeover to one of their friends that they bring into their interview. If they are able to make them decent looking then they are good to go.
I’m always horrified by the Mac employees foundation, it’s so gawdy and thick to me.
UGH
I JUST CAN’T STAND IT.
Sorry for the rant, I just feel as though it’s needed. -.-
