Best foundation brushes in my opinion are buffer ones! Elf makes a flat top buffer and lately I’ve been obsessed with the one from Real Techniques.
All foundations work better with different types of brushes or application methods, find which one works best :)

I always like to use stippling brushes for creams, and generally ill just use a concealer or cream foundation! A good concealer to contour with is Mac studio sculpt and as for cream foundations, the Graftobian palette is amazing.
As far as techniques go, I will just lightly swirl the product right under my cheek bone to create a shadow, usually a big heavier near the hair line and then fade it out towards the inner part of your face. I like to focus on the area of the face that is from your hairline to the edge of your eye. Looks more natural than a big line down the face!
